This week, prices of stainless steel cold-rolled coil in the Asian market rose, while export offers from Taiwan and China remained stable.
After rising in late July, prices stabilized in early August and are currently trending stronger. At present, buyers are shifting from a wait-and-see approach to increasing inventory, leading to a slight improvement in demand.
Regarding raw materials, LME nickel prices have risen for two consecutive weeks, cumulatively increasing by US$200. Meanwhile, Shanghai nickel prices have also recently increased by CNY 30.
Market participants said that transactions remain sluggish, coupled with insufficient demand, leading to short-term price volatility. A significant price increase is expected in September, after downstream manufacturers begin stockpiling.
